I have years experience utilizing online shipping services and find that Shippo outshines them all.
What where the positives?
Ease of website navigation is of primary importance; right up there with Shippo's aggressive pricing structure. Data entry, changes to shipping orders, accuracy in billing and package tracking are seamless on the website. Response time from customer service representatives is remarkable, pleasant and with ideal outcomes. I am extremely satisfied and have recommended Shippo to other business owners, including my brother and sister. I would prefer to be billed within 24 hours but, comparatively speaking, this is a minor issue.

The summary of shipments could include all the info such as Order no, Name and or address of the shipment to be able to clearly identify the shipment when reviewing the billing invoice. Also I had to create a brand new account just to be able to get the Shippo discounts back since I was unaware and it is not stated anywhere by adding my own shipping accounts, the Shippo shipping is not able to be added back in or be able to access it. There needs to be a clearer understanding of this such as a pop-up window when you add an account which will negate the Shippo rates and service.

Excellent Service. It was extremely helpful to be able to have a phone conversation. My rep was extremely helpful and patient. To solve the issue we ended up having to delete my account and recreate it. You can imagine the frustration and time it would take if a problem like this was diagnosed with emails or chats going back and forth. The rep was always timely in responding to questions. Having support when you need it is when you can determine if a company really supports their clients.

It would be great if they could use some type of screen share so that it would be a bit faster to trouble shoot.

Not all the features on the site are intuitive. I have had some trouble figuring things out including how to get immediate help with a problem via chat. What where the positives?
I had gotten a promo code for a 6 month free trial of the PRO service which showed on the website that it was active but the billing page said the next billing for the PRO subscription was the next month which seemed to indicate the trial that was being applied was for the default 30 day trial. Rodrigo took the time to explain that yes, the "next billing date" was the next month but for each month of the 6 month trial an offsetting credit would also be applied...so I was getting the extended trial but the way it worked wasn't very clear.

EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO USE ON A MOBILE DEVICE!! I previously used PirateShip but they only do USPS and I had some larger products were cheaper to ship UPS or FedEx. Shippo allows me to see the prices for all three companies along with the estimated shipping time on one screen so I can choose the best option for each shipment. The downside is trying to use Shippo's website on my phone is extremely difficult as it extends WAY off the screen of my phone which is what I normally to do all my shipping. Both PirateShip and Ship Station have mobile apps which make them very easy to use on a small mobile device screen. Shippo needs to STEP UP their game.
Summary
To be usable Shippo must be used on a PC due to lack of a mobile device compatible website or mobile app. This will require me to either move my office computer, which is also used for accounting, correspondence, updating the website and inventory designing and customizing products, etc., out to my dusty woodshop OR take all off the packages into the office (some are 50"x30" and 25 pounds) to ship them the carry them back to the shop for the carrier to pick them up. I like everything else about Shippo. Integrating with Etsy, Ebay and my website was very easy and using the Shippo carrier accounts gives discounts on some shipments better than the company discounts I was previously getting. Unfortunately the lack of usability on my phone may prevent me from using Shippo for the majority of my shipping.

I needed an easy to use solution for shipping out parts and hardware to our clients. I vetted 4 different online shipping systems and found shippo to be the most intuitive and easy to use. I love that it gives me multiple shipping options from multiple carriers, and that i can also add additional carriers.
Any negatives?
The ability to create an internal customer list would be helpful for companies like mine that dont connect to an e-commerce system. You have to manually type in addresses for all manual order entries. Not a big deal, but that address book would be super helpful...hint hint Shippo developers 😉

What where the positives?
Simple to use. Keeps track of your orders both filled and unfilled so you know right where you are. The Support is incredible. Even when you have to leave a message, they contact you same day.

Only thing I would like to see improved would be a separation of pounds and ounces in the weight of packages to be more accurate with rates rather than rounding up.

Ease of use. Love the ease of being able to compare shipping rates without losing input. Support is never far away and concerns are answered promptly and accurately. Records of completed shipments are easy to navigate. Ability to create return shipping labels between countries. This is so helpful and I know other service that has this function. Ability to create labels which aren't associated with a venue. It's possible to use Third Party Insurance direction from shippo. Refunds have been simplified and no longer take phone calls etc. to follow up.
Any negatives?
The process of cancelling a label and receiving a refund has improved greatly, but could perhaps still be a little faster. However, my nervousness related to this process may be a leftover from previous experiences (not just with this service but with all of them).

Great service. Easy to use. I’ve been in the mail order business for long time and have used many more expensive and complicated services. I really like this interface and generally am able to use it without any problems.

The search feature should be more intuitive. I often have to try to search two or three times before finding what I am looking for. For instance, if I am looking for an order by customer’s name, it should show up whether it is an open order or already shipped. But it doesn’t do that. That’s a little bit frustrating.

The staff are all really helpful and responsive. I like that the website is pretty easy to navigate and use once you get the initial hang of it. I like printing in batches, and love the integration with orders from my ecommerce platform.

Yes, you can only print 100 labels at a time. I have to go back in and print labels if I am printing over 100. I wish that there was a bigger limit to that. I have also had a few instances where labels print out for a customer with another customers information on them. It's happened twice now, and I have had to retrieve the orders from other people. Luckily both have let me know that they got an order that wasn't for them, because it was nearly impossible trying to figure out who it was for based on looking at my shipments tab. I also have to manually create labels for anyone over seas. They don't work when printing in batch label settings.
Summary
I like it overall and have been with the company for over a year now as my source for shipping labels. I will continue to use them and stay with the company, however there is room for some improvement stated above about the negatives. Overall it's great and affordable.

Live chat was quite slow to respond. Some of the UI is a bit off. When I printed a label it duplicated my Commercial Invoice (twice the same items and doubled the amount).

As per my above negative, a quick call to Shippo Support (call back) took only 15 mins and the rep Rodrigo was friendly and helpful. He resolved the issue right away and walked me through it just to make sure everything printed out okay.

** Fast and detailed Customer Service technichians, friendly too! (Rodrigo was above and beyond & great over the phone with all the many questions I had!) * Great prices! The rates of packages and mail is lower than going and processing at USPS. * Straight foward: Overal the interface is easy to use (not overlly complicated). Tip: Make sure you do chat with one of their team members at the setup of your account! (I setup the account and forgot about it, never taking advantage of their tips & advice of the platform. Example - Automatic Setting can be counter productive. Generates a return label. (unclick under settings, unless you need!) -- Something I would have learned with a quick phone call!

** Invoices: (Main issue for me). Shippo Company Invoices: They are sent and created when 1 of 2 situations occur. 1- If you reach a $100 threshold, it will send your invoice OR 2- After 7 days. I work and send out kits to different Companies (for Virtual team building) and need to send out an invoice to them for shipping costs. You ARE able to insert Company Name on a label but are not able to search invoices from a specific Company Name & Date. So I have to manually save (not the end of the world). * Creating a manifest: Reminder: If you start an order on a day, example 9/18 and you forget to generate a manifest and want to generate the next day 9/19- you CAN'T! Not the end of the world but a little annoying. * Personalization: I am currently testing out a trail of their upgraded account service. I can load my Company logo, but can't personalize the outgoing email to clients as much as I'd like to? Example, being able to center the logo on the outgoing email, and wording sent out to clients. (what they send is adequate though, not sure if it's worth an upgrade for me). * Email to clients with tracking number & return label tracking number! Had an issue with Shippo automatically sending out 2 emails to the email I input for the package. Everyone was confused about possibly receiving two kits. Customer Support was quick and great, informed me I had the auto settings on (they automatically generate a return label as an auto setting) but felt it strange since I know I unclicked the box for return label (I input everything manually). I also purchased 3 test labels and emailed myself to test the design of email & experience as a customer (this was not an issue during my test). So not sure if something "buggy" happened but I think it's resolved? Overall, minor issues.

my store has disconnected a few time and that is annoying especially when in a rush to fulfill orders and when you want to ensure the address is accurate (manual entry allows for errors). Also sometimes the shippo doesn't update in real-time. Lastly, when entering manual orders the order package slip shows an order quantity of 1 multiple times.

Overall, shippo needs to correct the negatives for a smoother process by its users. However, the customer support overall alleviates the frustration behind some of those negatives. Knowing that there is someone you can easily talk to is helpful.

But more importantly, when I go to their website to "chat" with support, I get quick, accurate help. This is so rare! What where the positives?
We find that Shippo has much fast customer service response than most platforms that we use. Their response team is always ready to get into the weeds of issues we inquire about. Rodrigo has assisted us on more than one occasion with great attention to detail. His customer support assistance is awesome.

A few minor issues for Canadian users (such as an inability to use the new interface) however nothing major.

Don't trust this company!!! A hacker accessed my account and made 11k worth of shipping labels within minutes while I was sleeping at 5am. I contacted shippo immediately and informed them of this fraud. A rep named jawad told me not to worry and I would be refunded once the finance team had a look. He told me in the meantime to inform PayPal of the fraud. Now after 4 days of emailing shippo they are just ignoring me now. With a quick search online I was able to find out this is a recurring problem people are having with shippo... 50+pages of shipping labels at a cost of $7 per label all done within minutes. This company doesn't take security seriously and could care less about scammers using their platform to rob people of thousands of dollars!! Take your business elsewhere or risk losing thousands!!!

I found the solution a bit overwhelming at first -- mainly because of all of the options that I would not be using. Following the support guides, emailing support, or using online chat is an easy way to get past this feeling.

This is a fantastic solution that I believe everyone should use. From the home user who just wants to print postage at home without having to stand in line at the post office to business that don't want to have all of their shipping information stuck on one computer in the office. I use this solution daily, and I rarely have issues. When I do find a problem, I report it to the support group and it's quickly fixed.

Better pricing than I was getting for USPS. Shipped out a hundred boxes to clients for Christmas gifts and working with Shippo saved me $100+ on the project. They got my negotiated UPS connected as well. It's a well organized system to take orders and get your products shipped quickly.

I hope they consider adding an address book and other features that would make it easier to use Shippo to communicate with clients and regular customers that are not submitting an online order.

After decades of maintaining their own shipping software, my main software recently integrated Shippo instead. Unfortunately, Shippo did not support USPS "Flats" rates and our packages shipped out at the higher Parcel rate costing thousands in extra postage. When this shortcoming was finally discovered, we switched to applying postage manually with UPS Mail Innovations being perhaps our long term solution. Also, Shippo customer service was not very responsive in refunding duplicate labels. We still have hundreds of dollars owed and were told they can not help us any more.

We just started using Shippo for our shipping needs both on and off our ecommerce site. Their app looks great and their documentation/API is among the best I've worked with, so the integration with our website was a lot easier than expected. The software has a few quirks sometimes, but nothing major, and they well make up for it with a really responsive and great customer support! I would definitely recommend others to give Shippo a try...we previously used stamps.com that we felt was a bit limited. Overall a great experience!

Shippo has a really seamless integration with Woocommerce and works great out of the box! So easy to compare shipping prices from different carriers on the interface, and generate customs declarations with data already available from the order. We really like the pricing model that allows us to use this service without committing to a certain shipping volume. We reached out to customer support to request about deactivating the status change on Woocommerce when a label was created. Customer support was fast and friendly and solved our issue. We are now using Shippo to generate labels for most of our orders. Highly recommended.:D

Great to use when shipping USPS from Canada
What where the positives?
I needed a platform to print USPS labels from Canada and have them sent to the US via courier to a US based post office. Shippo was a perfect solution, I was able to import my Etsy sales into Shippo so I didn't have to re write out shipping addresses etc. Everything imported great and I love that I don't have to then go and close an order on Etsy and add the tracking number as Shippo takes care of that.

Let's be real. They do their best. They're getting better. What started off as an okay service is NOW AMAZING! Rebekah D. is wonderful to work with, highly recommend them! 🙂 It stinks we have to write 500 words to post a review on here though! I just want to say that their support is great, and as long as they understand what issue you're having, they'll be able to help you. I had a somewhat unhappy experience with an issue where I didn't know that the second line on the shipping shouldn't be an apartment, but they were able to figure out why the error happened and to push the feature through to the developers. Highly recommended!

I've logged 4 tickets with shippo on a store integration, I've received no confirmation that they've received request and after 24 hours received no emails. The Store integrations can only be added, they cannot be removed, and when you remove the webhooks from shipping webhooks in WooCommerce, they integrations in Shippo still show active, when that is technically not possible, since webhooks and key/pair values have been removed from the store they are integrating with. Really Poor Support..

The name says it all, used shippo get charged like every package contained a hippo !

There is nothing good about using Shippo. Two times I used it and both times nothing but headaches and wasted time to sort thing out. First, their Canadian shipping options are actually not mentioned and are under 'Use my own packaging/shipping method', not sure who designed their website but it was an amateur to say the least. This time I took the package to the post office only to be told the label wasn't paid for. There is no contact number for Shippo, so you have to wait until the next day to get a response to your email. In their response they told me to tell postal workers to use 'Vendor Account' option, this is a day AFTER it was supposed to be shipped. Why don't they mention it when I purchased the label? Anyway, I will NEVER use them again to ship anything, I do have corporate account with Canada Post so I'll pay same or lower price. I only used them because they came up as an option on ebay. Stay away, a joke of a service.

Nothing, It was complicated to link my account to ebay and paypal and I had to call Canada Post and setup an account. Then after 3 days of trying to do that once it finally was working I went to ship an item and it was WAY OVERPRICED! I then went to get a rate from the Canada Post website itself and it was half the price that Shippo was offering. I will not be using shippo and my ebay days may be coming to an end.

I've really enjoyed using Shippo with my small business. Their site is easy to use and their customer service is excellent. I've learned a lot about shipping thanks to their customer service. I always get my questions answered in timely manner. Even when my original case manager was out of the office, another manager stepped up and checked in with me to make sure my needs were take care of and I didn't even have a big issue going on; just simple labeling questions for future use. I highly recommend them for all your shipping needs.

Shippo does not have phone support, so if you have a problem you want to solve immediately, it could be very frustrating because they might not reply as quickly as you need them to, especially if you are on a time deadline. In addition, their help section is not as "rich" with information as it could be.

I like Shippo for several reasons. Every other shipping app I looked at, my business was between price levels: we ship too much to get the free version, but don't ship nearly enough to justify the monthly cost for the paid version. Shippo is cheap and the cost is per label, which is perfect for my business. After getting started with Shippo, I needed support a couple of times, and they were super fast to respond! I really didn't expect that, and it's so nice to do business with people who have great customer service.

We had a problem with syncing our orders with Woocommerce. We also experienced double listings once everything was synced. Since we were new to both Woocommerce and Shippo, I was concerned about being bounced back and forth. So we contacted them immediately. They immediately recognized the problem and they helped us understand it. Although we are experiencing some residual issue, they have made sure to address all of our issues. First of all, for small home businesses, Shippo makes it possible to be a mail order company without any hassle at all. Plus, any discounts help and it is wonderful that besides being super fast and easy, it is also economical!

Ship should make it a policy to emphasize that their company is "Green". Besides being fast, simple and easy, Shippo leaves a small carbon footprint and is really great for the environment. Without Shippo I would drive a half an hour, 30 miles, to the nearest post office (and then who wants to wait in line?). I love that I can just drop the boxes or packets off at my mailbox at my convenience.

I am very enthusiastic about the topic of customer support because I have a very low threshold for frustration when dealing with any kind of technology. I am always super happy to talk to a human or get an email from a human. Recently, my credit card got hacked and the bank called me to tell me and that they were cancelling the card, to tear up my card and they would send me a new one, within two weeks. That happened to be the day that I heard from Shippo that my invoice did not go through... I want to acknowledge Amanda because I have heard from her before during my short interactions with Shippo. She is definitely human and is very positive, which made me love Shippo even more! The happy ending is that instead of waiting two weeks to get my new card, I got in in two business days. So technology isn't terrible after all!

I had a hard time printing a shipping label. Emailed Shippo, a lady there, Rebekah, made sure to put the label where I could easy access it. Within several hours, I had my answer, not like with some other businesses which either answer a week later, or not at all... Overall: in the past year I had to contact Shippo two or three times with minor issues, every time their Staff was very helpful. Thank you Shippo for a great shipping experience.
