All the data in this article comes from the eBay data analytics tool ShelfTrend. Here’s how we processed the data.
- We analyzed the top-level categories that mainly include mass-produced products that are sold new and at a fixed price.
- The top categories tables show the three subcategories with the most listings in the top 500 search results for each main category.
- We calculated the total unit sales for all listings per week and the average price from the top 100 Best Match ranked listings, excluding single-quantity listings.
- The top-performing listing is based on the highest total value of items sold per week, for listings that appear on the first page of the eBay search results.
- The most popular brands are the brands with the most units sold per week, within the top 1,000 Best Match ranked listings in the category.
- The price and sales trend graphs show the distribution of listings and weekly sales across ten different price ranges, for approximately the top 1000 Best Match ranked listings in the category. The bar graph shows the percentage of listings in each price range, and the line graph shows the total number of units sold per week in each price range.
